Steps away from the beach in El Granada, this kitchen which was TurnerBuilt installed for a family whom I have been honored to work with for the last 3 decades. It's been sobering working for the children of past customers. As hard as this for me to wrap my head around, the time has gone by quickly. Yes, I have been designing and building for 3 1/2 decades, and I get as much joy as I did when I started. Honestly, it's more fun than ever. What is not to like about being welcomed into people's homes and being paid to design and then create masterpiece kitchen and bathrooms? This is a very light and happy space.

This Half Moon Bay couple were looking for a kitchen design solution that provided a warm and cozy space that would function for entertaining family in addition to being a space the accommodate preparation, special cuisine and fine dining. The scope included a new window wall, opening up the ceilings, and adding repurposed beams to add the touch of antiquity. We were able to include a custom island that doubles between an excellent working surface that is in the middle of the work triangle, but also doubles as seating. Professional grade appliances and custom lighting made from old mason jars were the final touch that gives this kitchen it's unique style.

I tend to fall in love with a overwhelming majority of the people that I design and build for. The special ones I will designate as special VIP customers and I keep a silent list this I keep in my head. Once we finish a projects, I am often asked if we would consider coming back to take care of smaller projects when the need arises. Where it gets tricky is that I have to be careful about maintaining the priority for previous projects for which I have already made time commitments. As one of our foundational standards at TurnerBuilt is that we are accountable, we take scheduling very seriously, and therefore when we commit to start and completion dates, we no kidding are going to be on ti...

Contempory kitchen with vertical straight grain oak flush doors with a full overlay. We removed a wall and removed a post that really opened up the space and gave us plenty of room to create the island that she wanted. The hand made tiles set vertically carry repeat the cabinet door grain nicely and give it some rythm. The natural stain on the red oak floors were carried through, as the rest of the house was built with them.
